QUESTION:
How do I edit a category (account) in the Chart of Accounts?
INFORMATION:
Most districts opt that only district staff are able to create, change or delete a category (account).
SCENARIO:
At the beginning of the school year a new staff member will be looking after Fundraising. The category contact name should be revised.
PROCESS:
From Main Menu > Chart of Accounts
1. Click List View tab
2. Click record indicator to left of the required category (account)
3. Click Edit Pencil icon
Tip: Double clicking the category (account) record will place it in edit mode.
4. Revise category (account) record
5. Click Save (checkmark) on the category (account) toolbar
Click Cancel (X) to cancel the edit
OR
1. Click List View tab
2. Select category (account) to be modified
3. Click Modify tab
The modify screen will open.
4. Edit any fields, as necessary
5. Click Save (checkmark) on the category (account) toolbar
Click Cancel (X) to cancel the edit
Tip: If it is necessary to modify other categories (accounts): Use the record toolbar in the modify screen to scroll to locate the next category (account) requiring edit.
To Refresh the screen after a search:
Click Find All button
