How-To Set Up Your SchoolCash POS Device

Setting up your device is as easy as 1-2-3. All you need is an internet connection and your SchoolCash POS device in hand.

  1. Turn on the device by pressing the power button on the right-hand side of the device.

  2. Once the device has powered up, the SchoolCash app automatically loads on the screen. Click Continue to initiate setup. If the app does not automatically load, click KEV POS on the home screen.

  3. If a cellular data plan was not purchased for the device, follow the prompts on the screen to set up and connect to your wireless network. Once connected, the app proceeds to ensure it can connect to SchoolCash. Click Continue when prompted.

  4. Once pairing is complete, the device shows an “I’m Ready” screen. Your device is now ready to start collecting payments.


Important Notes


Manually Setup WiFi

If a cellular data plan was purchased for the device, we still recommend setting up the device to access your wireless network. Users are prompted to connect to WIFI if it is not already connected. To manually connect to the wireless network, click Settings on the home screen, enter pax9876@@ as the password, select Network and Internet, and then select the wireless network that the device needs to connect to.


Set Up the Receipt Roll

Your device is pre-configured to print receipts and comes pre-loaded with a receipt paper roll. The device prompts you when the paper is low. Follow these instructions to insert a new receipt roll:

  1. On the back of the device, lift the release catch and open the printer cover.

  2. Place the receipt roll into the open compartment with the receipt paper extending from underneath the roll, leaving at least 0.5 inch (1 cm) exposed.

  3. Close the cover and ensure a small portion of the receipt paper is visible.


Ordering Additional Receipt Rolls

Unlimited receipt paper is included as a part of your SchoolCash POS purchase. To begin, your device comes with three (3) receipt paper rolls. District users can order additional rolls by submitting a support ticket.
