During the implementation process, each Point of Sale (POS) device is assigned to a school. However, districts user can easily reassign devices to other schools if extra devices were required for school events such as concerts of sporting events.


Note on Re-assigning Devices

Once the device is reassigned to the new school, the POS automatically shows all items from the new school. Items from the previous school are not visible on the device once it's been reassigned.


Steps to Access POS Management Module

Note: The Point of Sale Management module is not yet set up in the School Store dropdown menu. This feature is tentatively scheduled for deployment in October 2024.

  1. You can access Point of Sale Management directly by modifying the URL for your SchoolCash site. As a result, please follow the below instructions on how to access the POS Management Module. Change the URL to end with /devicemanagement/.

    Example: https://nameofdistrictsite.schoolcash.net/devicemanagement/

  2. If you are unsure about the name of your district site:
    1. In the SFO Menu, go to Admin > Users.

    2. In the browser bar, change /usermanagement/ to /devicemanagement/ and press Enter.

    3. This takes you to the Point of Sale Management page. It is recommended to save this link as a bookmark for future reference.

  3. Alternatively, if District Catalog is available in the SFO School Store dropdown menu, select District Catalog.

  4. On the District Catalog page, select Point of Sale to access the management page.

Once you've located the device management page, follow the below instructions.

Re-assign the Device

  1. From the Main Menu of SchoolCash Accounting, select Point of Sale from the left menu bar.


  1. On the Point of Sale Management page, select the device to be renamed by clicking the 3 dots in the detail column, then Edit.

  1. Select the school the device is being reassigned to, then Save. SchoolCash Catalog items can then be added to the Point of Sale device for the newly assigned school.



Note: Changing the school that the Point of Sale device is assigned to does not change the SchoolCash Register cash drawer.
