QUESTION: Is there a limit to the number of categories allowed per split check?

RESPONSE:

The maximum number of categories the system recognizes is 50 when splitting categories while creating a check.

  • The check stub will only display five categories.
  • The check report prints 16 categories on main page of report. If more than 16 categories are used, less than 50, print the Category Overflow Report for a complete listing of all used categories.

INFORMATION:

On the Print/Checks screen, click Print Category Overflow button, at the top of the print screen for the checks.

NOTE: Be sure to load a blank piece of paper into the printer before using the Print Category Overflow option

MAXIMUM EXCEEDED

The following warning will display if the maximum number of categories is exceeded.

If more than 50 rows are entered, it will be necessary to delete rows until the number is at maximum of 50 or less.
