Introduction
The Effective Cut-Off Date in SchoolCash Online determines the final date students are obligated to pay for attached items if they are enrolled in a course. This guide explains how the Effective Cut-Off Date works, its purpose, and how to set it up when attaching items by course.
What is the Effective Cut-Off Date?
The Effective Cut-Off Date is used in the Attachment by Course feature to define the end of the 'grace' period. Students must pay for attached items by this date if they are enrolled in the course.
- If a student drops the course before the Effective Cut-Off Date, the item is no longer a commitment for the student.
- If a student drops the course after the Effective Cut-Off Date, the attachment remains active until paid. Unpaid items will display as overdue.
For courses attached with an Optional selection, an Effective Cut-Off Date is not required.
How to Set an Effective Cut-Off Date
Follow these steps to attach items with an Effective Cut-Off Date:
- Navigate to Main Menu > My School Store > SchoolCash Catalog.
- Create an item and save it.
- Attach the item as:
- Required
- By Course
- Enter the Effective Cut-Off Date.
- Attach the item to the course.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
If you encounter issues with an item not appearing in your active list or displaying incorrect dates, follow these steps:
- Verify the start and end dates of the item. Ensure they are current and accurate.
- If the item was copied from a previous school year, update the dates to reflect the current school year.
- Change the status filter to All to locate the item.
Note
An Effective Cut-Off Date is mandatory for required attachments but not for optional ones.
