Introduction

The tax rebate report allows users to collect 68% of the GST on eligible transactions. This article outlines the steps to generate, review, and sign off on the tax rebate report while ensuring all necessary transactions are included before submission.


Generating the Tax Rebate Report

To generate the tax rebate report, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Main Menu and select Reports.

  2. Select Tax Rebate Report (Report 14).

  3. Choose the Detailed View option.


  4. Select the earliest available date to ensure all transactions from the last sign-off are included.

  5. Set the end date (e.g., June 30th for an annual report or the last day of the reporting period).

  6. Click Continue to generate the report.

Reviewing the Tax Rebate Report

The generated report will display the following details:

  • Total rebate amounts, including the 100% rebate for eligible items.
  • The HST paid and the 68% rebate amount.

If additional transactions need to be recorded before submission, do not sign off on the report yet.

Signing Off the Tax Rebate Report

Once ready to finalize the report:

  1. Go back to the Main Menu and select Reports.

  2. Open Tax Rebate Report (Report 14) again.

  3. Select the Detailed view and confirm the earliest and end dates.


  4. Click Continue to review the report one final time.

  5. Click Sign Off when ready.

  6. Confirm the sign-off prompt. This action finalizes the report, and transactions will no longer appear.

Printing the Tax Rebate Report

It is recommended to print the tax rebate report immediately after signing off. If the report was not printed:

  1. Go to the Main Menu and select Reports.

  2. Select Tax Rebate Report (Report 14).

  3. Click Tax Rebate Report Menu > Previously Submitted to access past reports.


  4. Select the report entry (note the Entry dropdown menu containing your previously generated reports) and click Continue > Print.


Note

The printed version of a previously submitted report will have a different title and cannot be used to resubmit the tax rebate claim.
