Overview

Staff can buy SchoolCash Catalog items in two ways, depending on your district’s setup: (1) attach the item to staff (for example, a Staff grade if staff records are uploaded from your SIS), or (2) create an Unlisted item intended for staff only.

Before you begin

  • Your district setup determines whether staff records are uploaded and available for attachment (for example, via a Staff grade).
  • If you’re unsure how your district is configured or whether staff are included in the SIS upload, contact your District Administrator.

Steps

Option 1: When staff records are uploaded

  1. From the Main Menu, open SchoolCash Catalog.
  2. Open the item staff should purchase (or create the item if needed).
  3. Attach the item to the appropriate staff audience (for example, a Staff grade or individual staff members).
  4. Click Attach Students to finalize the attachment.

Option 2: When staff records are not uploaded

  • Create an Unlisted item intended for staff purchases (see the related article below for steps).

How staff can pay for the item

  • SchoolCash Online: Staff create an account and attach themselves (similar to a student). If your district requires verification (for example, date of birth and an ID number), use the verification article below.
  • SchoolCash Register: For in-person payments, search for the staff member’s name in the Student Name field. Items attached to staff appear and can be purchased like a student item.

Outcome

The item is available for staff purchase based on your district’s staff upload and the attachment or visibility method you chose.

Troubleshoot

  • Staff cannot find the item online > Confirm staff are included in your district upload and the item is attached to the correct staff audience.
  • Staff cannot attach themselves in SchoolCash Online > Follow the verification process if your district requires it.
  • Item does not appear in SchoolCash Register > Confirm the item is attached to staff and search using the staff member’s name if a Staff grade attachment was used.
  • After trying the steps above, still having issues > Contact your District Administrator.
