Overview

The Fee Link is a unique URL for an item in SchoolCash Catalog. It works for both Public and Unlisted items and takes purchasers directly to the item’s purchase page in the district's SchoolCash Online, without browsing the Items list.

Before you begin

You need a role allowing access to SchoolCash Catalog, to view and edit existing items you can open from View Items list.

Steps

  1. In SchoolCash Catalog, open View Items.
  2. If the item was created with the Public or Unlisted toggle enabled, select an existing item you want to share.
  3. In the item details panel (right-hand side), locate the Fee Link field near the bottom and copy the URL.
  4. Share the Fee Link with purchasers (for example, in an email, on a web page, in a message or on a poster).
  5. Optional: Use the Fee Link as the destination for a QR code for posters, flyers, newsletters, or event signage.

Outcome

Purchasers who open the Fee Link are taken directly to the correct item’s purchase page. For Public items, the Fee Link is a faster path to the same item shown on the district's SchoolCash Online Items page. For Unlisted items, the Fee Link is the primary way purchasers access the item, for those without a student attached. It is not recommended for parents to purchase through the public or unlisted link, if the item is attached to their student.

Troubleshoot

  • Purchasers cannot buy the item from the link > Confirm the item is active and within its purchase dates (not expired).
  • Purchasers are confused about what the link is for > Add context with the link (purpose, deadlines, pickup details, and who the purchase is intended for).
  • Multiple schools offer similar items > Use the Fee Link to direct purchasers to the exact item, and include the school name in the item name, description and message.
  • If the item is a Public Only item, with a Due Date, and it isn't available for purchase after the Due Date, but item hasn't expired yet. Why is it not visible for purchase? A Due Date will remove the item from public view at 11:59 pm on the due date. Unlike regular or Unlisted items with a Due Date, Public Only items will not show as overdue. Do not add a due date, rely on the end date.
