Overview

Create a dedicated Investment bank account for each investment to track principal and simplify reporting and year-end.

Steps

  1. From the Main Menu, go to My School Information > Program Maintenance, open the 5 Step Set-Up process (or your district’s bank account creation workflow).
  2. Name the bank account using the investment name or certificate number (e.g., CD #12345 10/31/2025).
  3. Set the Opening Balance equal to the investment principal recorded in SGF (positive value).
  4. On Category Umbrellas, associate Investment Principal as the umbrella type for the investment category.
  5. Save.

Outcome

An Investment bank account is created and ready to reconcile monthly.
